Anime AI girlfriend generator
How it works
Create your waifu character in a few taps. Pick an anime archetype (tsundere, kuudere, dandere and more), an art style, hair and eye color, her role, a setting and a quirk, then hit Create my waifu. You get a character card with her name, role, backstory and sample lines, plus an anime image prompt and a persona prompt you can paste into Candy.ai, OurDream AI or GirlfriendGPT. Every character is a fictional adult (21–29). Want a realistic companion instead? Use the AI girlfriend generator.
Anime archetypes explained
The “-dere” words come from Japanese fan slang: dere is the lovestruck, affectionate side of a character, and the prefix tells you how she shows it. Pick the one whose voice you want to chat with. It shapes her sample lines and her speaking style in the persona prompt.
- Deredere
- Openly sweet and affectionate from the start. Cheerful, encouraging and never shy about saying she missed you.
- Tsundere
- Proud and a little prickly on the outside (tsun), caring underneath (dere). Denies being flustered, then shows up first when it matters.
- Kuudere
- Cool, calm and composed. Speaks briefly and dryly, and shows affection through small, quiet actions rather than big words.
- Dandere
- Shy and quiet at first, often trailing off mid-sentence. Opens up, and turns out to be funny, once she trusts you.
- Genki
- Boundless energy and enthusiasm. Loud, upbeat, always has a plan for the weekend and drags you along.
- Onee-san
- The mature, older-sister type: a confident, teasing adult who looks after people and enjoys being a step ahead of you.
- Himedere
- Acts like a princess (hime) and expects to be treated like one, with a dramatic, theatrical streak that hides a soft heart.
We left out yandere on purpose. The “obsessive” archetype leans on possessive and threatening behavior, which makes for an unhealthy chat partner.
Which anime art style should you pick?
- 90s cel anime: flat cel colors, bold outlines, film grain and a retro palette. Good for a nostalgic look.
- Modern josei: the romance style of anime made for adult women, with soft pastels, detailed expressive eyes, delicate line art and a romantic glow.
- Semi-realistic / 2.5D: anime faces with painterly, realistic lighting and texture, the look many companion apps do best.
- Webtoon: clean digital lines, smooth gradients and a Korean manhwa feel. Reads well as a profile picture.
How to use the persona prompt in apps
The card gives you two blocks to copy. The image prompt describes how she looks, in the art style you picked. The persona prompt describes who she is: name, age, role, archetype, speaking style, quirk and backstory, plus rules that keep her in character. For more ways to tune a persona, see our AI girlfriend prompts guide.
Candy.ai: start a custom character and choose the anime style. Use the image prompt as your guide in the visual builder (hair, eyes, outfit, setting), then paste the persona prompt into the personality or backstory field. If there's a greeting field, paste one of her sample lines so the chat opens in her voice.
OurDream AI: pick an anime look, match the appearance options to the image prompt, then paste the persona prompt where the app asks for personality and background. If a field has a character limit, keep the name, age, archetype, speaking style and quirk lines and trim the backstory.
GirlfriendGPT: create a new character, paste the persona prompt into the description or persona box and a sample line into the greeting. The image prompt works well for an illustrated avatar.
Field names change as apps update, so look for the closest equivalent. Need more name ideas than the card offers? Generate a batch with the anime waifu name generator and swap the name into the persona prompt.

What is the difference between tsundere, kuudere and dandere?
A tsundere acts prickly or proud but is caring underneath. A kuudere is calm and cool on the surface and shows affection through quiet actions. A dandere is shy and quiet at first and opens up once she trusts you. See all the archetypes explained.
How do I use the persona prompt in Candy.ai or OurDream AI?
Create a custom character, set an anime style and match her look to the image prompt, then paste the persona prompt into the personality, description or backstory field. Use one of the sample lines as her greeting if the app has a first-message field. More detail in how to use the persona prompt.
Are the characters adults?
Yes. Every character is a fictional adult aged 21 to 29, in adult roles and settings. The prompts state her age and describe an adult character design.
Can I get the same character again later?
